This LibGuide and the guides that are linked to it are designed to assist library staff affiliated with FLVC information and instruction on how to use the various components of Alma and Primo VE. Our goal is to create a one-stop resource for all aspects of our system including resources for learning how to use Alma and Primo VE, how to configure certain customized components, and links to documentation and training videos. While this LibGuide is not complete at this time, FLVC staff will be adding new content over the next few months in order to make this site more useful. Re-visit often in order to see this site grow!
September 14, 2021:
Ex Libris staff are presenting the Fall Workshops for Alma/Primo VE from September 7 - October 7. These sessions focus on specific aspects of the system. Topics were suggested by the Working Groups and questions submitted by library staff. The areas covered in these new workshops are: Managing E-Resources, Primo VE, Managing Physical Resources, Cataloging, and Alma Analytics. All sessions will be led by an Ex Libris Trainer with FLVC staff members available to assist. The trainer will demonstrate and explain how to perform certain functionality, and there will be plenty of opportunity to ask questions during each session. There is a dedicated week to each particular area and just repeat the workshop once. Staff can choose to attend early or late in the week. To register, go to the Fall Workshops LibGuide section.
The 12 TEST environments, with the data and config of 12 of the 40 institutions are now available. You can find information on the Premium Sandboxes/Test Environments section of the LibGuide. Everyone has access to three of the Test environments, plus the Network Zone. Nine of the institutions have dedicated TEST environments. See your ILS Coordinator for login accounts and passwords.
Ex Libris invites all library staff to join the Knowledge Acceleration Program, a webinar series created specifically for libraries who have gone live with Alma in the last six months. These live sessions will focus on a range of topics that libraries often look to optimize in their first year of production. Each session includes 45 minutes of instruction, and 15 minutes of Q&A with a member of our Expert Services team. The first session is Oct. 19 and ends Nov. 23.
Note: The sessions are open for all customers. Examples and workflows will have a different setup than what you have. Some may be for a single institution, not in a consortia with an NZ. Here is the link for details and registration.
