Aleph v. 23 Upgrade: New Features/Functionality

This guide will provide training for the new features and functionality that comes with the upgrade to v. 23.


UBorrow Enhancements 

  1. Create a pickup location list based on patron status, e.g.  Office Delivery for faculty patrons. (Union Catalog only)
    • If patron's status is student or staff, the pickup location dropdown list will not include, Office Delivery
    • If patron's status is faculty, the pickup location dropdown list will include, Office Delivery.
    • Currently for FSU only. 
    •  If this functionality is desired, please submit a case via the HelpDesk.
    • Status as of April 22:  Ready for production by May 6, 2019
  2. Display patron address, including email, in Mango patron account for verification of email notifications. (Local and Union Catalogs)
    • Available in Production.
  3. New Search Limit for display of titles that are available via UBorrow. (Union Catalog only)
    • In the Mango Union catalog, after conducting a search, a third search limit, "Books Available for UBorrow" will display.
    • If limit is chosen, the search results will be resorted to exclude electronic material and any collections that are not available for request via UBorrow.

  4. Sticky labels for both Colleges.
    • The data from the Lending Library pullslips have been reformatted to provide only the most pertinent information, which is formatted to fit the Avery label 6464.
    • The label output job is run from the AlephILL client, see below for instructions.
    • Available in Production.
  5. Refinement of the Supplier Rota.
    • The RSSC will look at the current setup of suppliers which is based on geographic proximity and, using delivery and supplier stats, will determine the most efficient supplier rota.
    • This part of the project will be put on hold until a decision is made about the new ILS so that supplier setup for the new system can be taken into account.
